Michigan 10 years later...

This weekend Nick and I took a long weekend trip to Saugatuck Michigan for a much-needed getaway. It was a wonderful trip and very relaxing. Our first stop on Saturday morning was Oval Beach, which is where Nick popped the question to me in the fall of 1999. It really is a very nice beach and we hope to bring the boys here someday.

The water was a bit on the nippy side so there wasn't even much wading but it was nice to look at nonetheless.

Funnily enough there was a summer camp run by the Presbyterian Church right by Oval Beach and they had this sign, which we found humorous. Us wacky Presbyterians! We are just downright kooky! :)

After the beach it was onto wine mecca, Tabor Hill Winery. For those of you who know me, Tabor Hill Demi-Sec is my very favorite wine so I had to go see where it was made. It is the cutest little winery and in a very nice setting.

The best part of the winery, though, was the restaurant they have there. Oh. My. Goodness. If ever I end up on deathrow and am in need of a last meal, I would like them to prepare it. We thouroughly enjoyed every bite, not to mention the fact that we didn't have to order chicken nuggets! The restaruant overlooks the vineyard and makes for a lovely backdrop for a lovely meal. We will go back again, oh yes, we will go back!

The rest of the day was great, too. We went to see Star Trek at the movie theater (awesome movie if you haven't seen it!) and then had dinner in Saugatuck followed by a lovely stroll along the harbor boardwalk. It really was a great trip! Yay Michigan! Yay alone time! Yay wine! Yay beach! Yay!

great pic of you two on the beach! Did you pester the beach goers to take that for you, or were you a dork with some kind of tripod?! :)
So glad you had a great trip... so jealous, might I also add...
