Sledding

We took advantage of the still-voluminous snow on the the ground and headed over to Cool Creek Park for some big time sledding. Here is video of Nick and Andrew taking their first run of the day:

This picture was taken at the end of our sledding adventure and the boys were DONE! But the eternal scrapbooker in me just couldn't leave without an attempt at a group shot. Could Alex's smile be any more fake?!

Snow Day!

We got about 7 inches of snow last night so I took the boys out to sled down our driveway and to play in the snow. Yay snow days!

I couldn't resist taking this picture because it reminds me of the boys in A Christmas Story. Andrew is so bundled up he looks like Randy..."I can't put my arms down!"

Alex was so excited to be out in the snow that he took a header into a snow drift right away!
Lexie from across the street was so nice to take Andrew down our driveway a few times...he LOVED it and was grinning the whole way down!

Andrew, Jackson (from across the street) and Sophie (from catty corner across the street, also Andrew's "Intended"). Andrew and Sophie (or FiFi as Andrew calls her) were so happy to see each other and ran toward each other yelling each others names. Snowy love...
Alex is turning into a true little boy and spent much of his time outside throwing snow balls at people.
Karen, Sophie and Andrew at the end of a good slide down our driveway, which is the perfect incline for small-child sledding.

Our snowy fun had to end when Andrew kept taking his mittens off and refused to put them on again. Sophie was sympathetic but couldn't help because her mom had Velcroed her mittens on! We headed in after I took this picture and Andrew stopped crying, for all you who are thinking I'm a bad mother! :) We only stood and laughed at him for a little bit...

David Beckham, watch out!

Alex started indoor soccer last week. I much prefer the indoor to the outdoor--far less weather concerns!

David Beckham may be cute in his soccer uniform but Alex is cuter in my opinion!

Practicing dribbling...
GOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!! (Well, sort of...they had to practice kicking the ball against the wall. But if there had been a net there, it would have been a goal!)

Wildman!

I couldn't resist posting this picture of Andrew. Last night he decided that he was going to rock the pirate hat with the sunglasses. He would simply not take them off! He walked around the house like that for at least an hour...what can we say, he's a slave to fashion!

Christmas Morning 2008

Christmas morning pictures...

Alex opening his big gift from Santa--a GeoTrax Train Station!

For reasons not completely understood, Andrew's favorite gift on Christmas morning was a toy cell phone. I have it on good authority from Santa that this was completely a last minute gift and also rather cheap! But he carried that thing around the rest of the day!

Not surprisingly, Santa brought us a Wii game, which Alex proclaimed as "cool!"

Andrew checking out one of his gifts...

Andrew telling Daddy how cool his new Thomas movie is (notice the cell phone!)

After breakfast (yummy French toast!) we opened our stockings. Andrew's stocking had just been finished on the 23rd!

Andrew playing with his new car track extension... still with the cell phone, too!

Later in the afternoon Nana and Grandpa Bob joined us for Christmas dinner and some more present opening. It was a GREAT day all around!!!
